Refunds

If something goes wrong.

Every disposable camera is made for one event, so here’s how changes, cancellations and faulty cameras work.

Changing your mind

Before you approve the design

Cancel any time and we’ll refund everything you’ve paid, except the design and setup fee if your order has one. That covers the design work already done for you.

After you approve the design

This is when production starts. Stickers are printed with your event on them, so we can’t reuse the cameras or take them back if you change your mind.

If the event moves or is cancelled

Tell us as soon as you know.

  • New date? Your cameras will keep. The film’s good for well over a year stored somewhere cool and dry. If the date’s printed on the sticker, we can quote new stickers.
  • Cancelled before production? You’re covered by “Before you approve the design” above.
  • Cancelled after production? We’ll talk it through with you and help where we can, but we can’t offer a refund on cameras already made for your event.

Faulty or damaged cameras

Occasionally a disposable camera has a fault: a flash that won’t fire, a wind-on that sticks, a shutter that won’t press. Here’s what we do.

Found when they arrive

Email us within three business days of delivery with a photo or short video, and how many cameras are affected. We’ll replace them before your event if there’s time, or refund them if there isn’t.

Found at or after the event

Email us within 30 days of the event with a photo or video of the fault. If the problem is with the film, send photos of the developed negatives and the lab’s results too, so we can work out what happened. Once we’ve confirmed a manufacturing fault, we’ll refund those cameras.

What isn’t a fault

We can’t refund problems caused after the cameras leave us: cameras stored somewhere hot or damp, shots taken in the dark without the flash, film opened before it’s developed, or mistakes made by the developing lab.

And photos that are blurry, tilted or mostly of someone’s thumb? That’s film. It’s half the fun.

How refunds work

Email hello@quokka.cam with your name, event and what happened. We’ll reply within two business days.

Approved refunds go back to the way you paid, within ten business days.

Your rights

Nothing on this page limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law. If a disposable camera has a major failure, you’re entitled to a replacement or refund, and to compensation for other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage.

Ready when you are.

Send us the brief. We’ll take it from there.
